A Life in the Community

Progress has been made around the country to ensure that individuals with disabilities who want to live, work and play in the community can do so. But there are many who still think that large institutional settings are the “safest” place for people with disabilities. We believe that segregating people with disabilities, in order for them to receive services, is wrong and dangerous.

    NDRN and eight other national and local disability and civil rights groups filed an amicus brief supporting plaintiffs on the claim that the City must provide comprehensive transition services to facilitate moving people from institutions into community-based independent living arrangements.

    NDRN Joins Amicus in Housing Case

    July 24, 2018

    NDRN joined nine California disability rights organizations, medical and clinical professionals in an amicus letter urging the California Supreme Court to grant review of the California Court of Appeals decision in Reilly v. Marin Housing Authority.
