NDRN joins Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee P&As and Ohio Arc in Intellectual Disability Capital Punishment Case

On December 21, 2021, NDRN and the Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee P&As and the Arc of Ohio filed an amicus in support of a petition for certiorari in Hill v. Shoop in the U.S. Supreme Court. The case involves whether Mr. Hill had an intellectual disability and thus could not be subject to the death penalty. The amicus seeks to educate the court about how using “present functioning” violated the clinical guidelines for diagnosing intellectual disability.
