Many landlords now require potential renters to go through a myriad of screening processes that look for things such as criminal records or past evictions. These background checks, that are often carried-out by third party venders, quickly weed out tenants with any kind of background, making it difficult to find housing for a whole community of tenants. NDRN submitted comments to express their concerns with such blanket screening process; highlighting the negative consequences of many of these actions.
