WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) announced this week the winners of the national 2020 Clearinghouse Awards. The awards, also known as the “Clearie” Awards, are given for best practices in election administration.

Included in the awards was recognition of National Disability Rights Network members Disability Rights Iowa, Disability Rights of West Virginia, and Disability Rights Wisconsin. The three agencies each partnered with Clearie Award recipients to ensure that state voting systems were accessible to people with disabilities and to educate voters with disabilities about their rights.

“We congratulate this year’s Clearie Award winners and thank them for partnering with disability agencies to ensure voters with disabilities were able to cast their ballots,” said NDRN Executive Director Curt Decker. “We also congratulate Disability Rights Iowa, Disability Rights of West Virginia, and Disability Rights Wisconsin. During a difficult year, these members of our network have shown great perseverance and dedication which resulted in historic voter turnout.”
