State Success in Educating Students with Disabilities during COVID-19 – Highlighting Collaboration in Kentucky and Nebraska

This webinar highlighted the successful policies and practices that both Kentucky and Nebraska have embraced to ensure that students with disabilities receive appropriate education during school closures as a result of COVID-19 under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Associate Commissioner Gretta Hylton from Kentucky and Commissioner Matt Blomstedt from Nebraska were joined by Lucy Heskins from Kentucky Protection and Advocacy and Michael Elsken from Disability Rights Nebraska to discuss successful policies and collaborative strategies occurring in both states.
