NDRN Applauds Introduction of the Stop the Wait Bill in Congress to Benefit Social Security Applicants

The Stop the Wait Act was introduced in both the House and Senate by Senator Casey and Representative Doggett. This vital bill will eliminate the five month waiting period SSDI applicants must wait before they can begin to receive the greatly needed benefits. Additionally, the bill eliminates the two year waiting period for Medicare benefits for the same individuals. Persons who require such benefits are in great need and cannot afford to wait these long periods; they are in need of financial assistance immediately. These thank you letters express NDRN’s support of the two companion bills.
