On September 9, 2020, the National Disability Rights Network was mentioned during the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis remote hearing entitled “Ensuring a Free, Fair, and Safe Election During the Coronavirus Pandemic.” During the hearing, Chairman Clyburn entered NDRN’s letter into the record without objections. The letter highlights that voters with disabilities remain a large and influential voting block in America’s elections. Since in person, early, and curbside voting remains essential during the 2020 elections and elections administrators are making rapid changes to rules and practices around the elections that will drastically affect how voters interact with the electoral process — Congressional funding is sorely needed to ensure that elections in 2020 are free, fair, safe, and protect the rights of voters with disabilities.
