On April 3, 2020, the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) joined over 70 national organizations on a letter to the U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, with a clear message that no additional waivers are needed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Rehab Act).
The letter was sent to the U.S Department of Education as they work on a report to be submitted to Congress with suggestions for waivers under both laws. That report was directed by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and. Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
