The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) joined 26 civil and human rights groups on a letter sent to the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) urging that the HELP Committee take sweeping and consequential action to address the confluence of two dangerous forces: the rise of white supremacist terror and our federal government’s inaction on commonsense gun safety.
The letter states that these two issues should be the focus as the committee explores ways to stop mass shootings, not “dangerous policies to marginalize and criminalize children in schools.”
