Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) introduced two pieces of legislation that will better accommodate persons with disabilities during major disasters. The Real Emergency Access for Aging and Disability Inclusion for Disasters Act (REAADI) and the Disability Relief medicaid Act (DRMA) sets up several requirements for state and federal government programs to ensure that people with disabilities have full access to all services during man-made and natural disasters; historically, people with disabilities have faced extreme barriers during such events, leaving them extremely vulnerable. The National Disability Rights Network send two letters expressing thanks to the Senator for introducing the REAADI Act and DRMA.
